Preliminary setup for Remote Online services in the Mercedes me App ***
The charging processes can be easily controlled using the smartphone and the Mercedes me App. You receive information on the charging status as well as a clear overview of your charging history. For this, the wallbox is simply connected to the Internet via the customer's own WLAN or LAN.

Safety has top priority
The integrated components (6 mA DC residual current detector) provide additional protection for the vehicle, the house installation and the wallbox during charging. As additional protection against unauthorised use, the Mercedes-Benz Wallbox can be unlocked or locked using the app or the RFID card.****

Over-the-Air updates
The Mercedes-Benz Wallbox has the technology to receive "Over-the-Air" software updates via the customer's own WLAN or LAN. For example, you will be able to receive new functions for integrating the wallbox into an energy management system in the future. In order to receive the over-the-air updates, you will need the Mercedes me App. You will then need to agree to the relevant update in the app, or you can set the Mercedes me App to install updates automatically for you.***

Installation
You can use our Mercedes-Benz Wallbox Pre-Check now to see how well prepared you are for charging at home. If you are interested in arranging for the professional installation of a wallbox, please contact our installation partner in the relevant country. The installation is not included in the purchase price, but you will receive an overview of the installation costs from our installation partner, who will also be happy to check your home to see whether a wallbox can be installed. An Internet connection via LAN or WLAN is required for installation. You can obtain further information after purchasing the wallbox or from your local Mercedes-Benz dealer.
Please note: the installation of the Mercedes-Benz Wallbox must be carried out exclusively by persons with appropriate specialist training and the item is not intended for installation by the end user. Please also observe the local specifications and regulations.

Compatibility
The Mercedes-Benz Wallbox Socket has been tested for compatibility and operation with all current Mercedes-Benz models. The wallbox was developed according to the official IEC 61851-1 standard and can therefore also be used with other vehicles that adhere to this standard. The Mercedes-Benz Wallbox Socket can be used with all commonly approved Type 2, Mode 3 charging cables. If you wish to use your wallbox with the corresponding Mercedes-Benz charging cable, this is available under item number A0005832098.

* Depending on the manufacturer and vehicle, 22 kW charging may require the relevant "Alternating-current charging system (AC charging 22 kW)” special equipment. If this is not the case, the vehicle is automatically charged via the wallbox with the optimal charging power. The maximum charging power of the charging station must be adapted to the upstream installation (cable cross-section and fuse protection).
** A charging cable is not included in this offer. The offer only covers the products described in the scope of delivery. A Mercedes-Benz charging cable can be ordered separately under item number A0005832098.
*** In order to use the remote functions of the Mercedes Benz Wallbox and to receive Over-the-Air updates, the Mercedes me App, a personal Mercedes me ID and agreement to the Terms of Use for the Mercedes me connect services are required. In order to receive the over-the-air updates, you will need the Mercedes me App. You will then need to agree to the relevant update in the app, or you can set the Mercedes me App to install updates automatically for you. The technical capability of receiving over-the-air updates does not prevent the possibility of problems or other issues that require the on-site presence of an specialist expert.

***** Each wallbox includes an LTE-M modem. The required SIM card and the required data volume are not part of the offer. If you would like to purchase a wallbox with LTE-M SIM card and 8 years of data volume included directly from Mercedes-Benz, you will find the corresponding product under item number A0009063212. With this offer, you will receive the data volume for up to 8 years, but until no later than 31 December 2033. The offer applies from when the card is activated during installation, and may therefore be less than 8 years. The insertion and installation of the SIM card should only be carried out by a qualified specialist (for example by your electronics engineer) and is not designed to be undertaken by the end user. Our installation partner will be happy to provide advice on the requirements associated with the SIM card and how to obtain one.
